NLRB Takes Steps Toward a Fairer Election for Workers
Eye on the NLRB We commend President Obama's recess appointments of three new members to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Without a functioning Board, employers and employees alike would have been stuck in legal limbo on a range of issues. The President's appointments ensure that this critical agency will be able to do its job: safeguarding workers' rights on the job and holding lawbreaking corporations accountable.

In other good news for America's workers, the NLRB recently adopted most of the provisions in its proposed rule to ensure fairer union elections. These modest reforms will go into effect April 30.

Continue to expect corporate-backed lawmakers to further their relentless assault on the 99 percent through attacks on Obama's appointments, the NLRB, and the key protections that give working Americans a fair shot at the middle class.
