American Rights at Work’s first annual Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Awards Celebration was a huge success, as evidenced by the rave reviews from attendees.
The inaugural ceremony honored employers that work cooperatively with their employees’ unions; activists who stand up and speak out on behalf of workers’ rights; and a legendary artist and activist who has led us, inspired us, and challenged us to keep beating the drum and spreading the message. The standing-room only crowd of American Rights at Work supporters proved that young or old, famous or unknown, union member or not, the democratic right to form a union is something worth struggling to protect and advance.
We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone whose support, attendance,
and hard work contributed to making the event a tremendous success. We
hope that this event will be the first of many victorious celebrations
for workers’ rights we share together. 2005 Honorees:
