| Thank President Obama for Supporting America's Workers |
|
Change is finally coming. Finally, we have a president who's ready to bring relief to the middle class. A president looking out for working families, not just his corporate buddies. A president ready to sign the Employee Free Choice Act. President Obama's support for this bill has stayed strong through his campaign and since his election. It's time we thanked him – and showed him just how many people care about this issue. »Click here to send President Obama a quick thank-you card – tell him you've got his back. The momentum is on our side. The president, vice president and incoming secretary of labor were all co-sponsors of the Employee Free Choice Act when they were in Congress. There has never been broader support among lawmakers, and polls show nearly 75% of adults want to see the bill enacted. And I'm confident President Obama will stand up to the coming attacks from anti-union groups. In an interview last week, he said: "If the business community's argument against the Employee Free Choice Act is simply that [the bill] will make it easier for people to join unions, and we think that's damaging to the economy, then they probably won't get too far with me." With President Obama on our side, we can give America's workers, who've taken more hits than anyone in this economic downturn, the right to bargain for fair pay, health care, and more security. But for him to overcome the influence of powerful anti-union lobbyists and work with Congress to pass this bill, he needs grassroots support. He needs to hear from you. Thank President Obama for standing up for the American middle class. |
